<td width="832">HPV 致癌。它与女性的子宫颈癌、阴道癌和子宫癌，男性的阴茎癌，男女都有的肛门癌和口腔癌都有密切的因果关系。HPV的感染也会引起癌症的前期病变 (CDC 2015)。但是只要做一个简单的HPV前期测试，这些癌症都是可以避免发生的。
<strong>HPV DNA PCR </strong>测试现已成为一个标准非侵害性的子宫颈HPV感染的唯一测试办法, 与传统的柏氏涂片检测同时使同。 <br /></td>

<strong>14 种最常见的致癌HPV类别</strong>引致世上
91-97% 的子宫颈和阴茎癌，它们被归纳
为<strong>高危组 </strong>(即16, 18, 26, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45,
51, 52, 53, 56, 58, 59, 66, 68, 73, 82类)，
其中52及58类在亚洲最为常见。在致癌恶效上，受一种或多种高危HPV感染是没有分别的。 <br />
<br />
根据最近ATHENA所做的大规模临床实验的结果所显示，HPV DNA测试是适宜作为普查25岁或以上的女性子宫颈癌的第一线预防测试方案，因为10 – 25% 受HPV16种类所感染的女性最终都会演变成有病，
虽然她们目前的柏氏涂片检视是正常的。
知道有没有HPV感染也对细胞的检查会有很大的帮助。
